Tooth Extraction - What to Expect

Tooth extraction is a common dental procedure performed when a tooth cannot be saved. Common reasons include:
- Severe tooth decay
- Gum disease
- Tooth fracture
- Overcrowding
- Infected pulp

The Process:
1. Local anesthesia is administered
2. Tooth is loosened and extracted
3. Bleeding is controlled
4. Post-extraction instructions provided

Aftercare:
- Bite on gauze for 30 minutes
- Avoid rinsing for 24 hours
- Eat soft foods
- No smoking for 48 hours
- Take prescribed medications
